The rescue and high quality of the recordings that integrates this edition, with 70 samples of themes by Luis Rivero (1934-2005) – singing and music teacher for actors, composer of music that is an essential component of stage shows – is the result of Rodolfo Sánchez Alvarado’s professional and creative collaboration with the master, throughout more than three decades. The recordings correspond to musical pieces that the composer created for 20 montages, of a great variety of genres and styles, which were directed by eminent creators of the contemporary Mexican stage, such as Julio Castillo, Héctor Mendoza, Luis de Tavira, José Solé y Raúl Zermeño. CD 1 contains compositions for Reso (1974); Ratas, ratas, ratas (1979); Santa (1976); La verdad sospechosa (1984); La Perricholi (1985); Coriolano (1989); A ninguna de las tres (1957); Vámonos a la guerra (1977) y El anzuelo de Fenisa (1991). CD 2 includes the compositions for In memoriam… Manuel Acuña (1975); Martha la piadosa (1986); El príncipe de Homburgo (1976); Eco y Narciso (2004); El martirio de Morelos (1983); El álbum de María Ignacia (1986); La ilustre fregona (s.f.); La gran revolución (1979); Santa Juana de los Mataderos (2002); La conspiración de la Cucaña (1989) y Las ventajas de la Epiqueya (1998).
