Patricia Chavero Gómez
Cultural Policies Analysis Specialist, Theater Subsector
Theater Professor and Researcher.
She studied Cultural Policies and Cultural Management at UAM Iztapalapa.
Her research work has focused on the study of the circulation processes of culture and art, especially in the theater sector. She worked on the projects Dictionary of Mexican Theater (1994) and Theater and its Audiences (1996). In 2002, she received a grant from the National Program for Art Education from INBA/CENART/CONACULTA (according to their Spanish initials) to take on the projectRevision of the Public Spending Set Aside for Culture, Theater Subsector. Her study Assessment of an Equal Model in Theater Production, State-Audience-Creators, where she analyzes, from a public policies assessment perspective, the management of the Hellenic Cultural Center (Centro Cultural Helénico) from the period 2001-2006. It was published on the webpage of the Rodolfo Usigli Theater Research Center of INBA. Currently, she is preparing the seminar “Analysis of Public Spending” devoted to theater production, to be held within the framework of the 2010 National Theater Showcase, in Guadalajara, Jalisco. She is a member of the faculty of the course on cultural management: professional profiles and perspectives on self-management, of With You America (Contigo América), an independent theater institution, and CONACULTA´s entailment program, which takes place at the Bicentennial Arts Center (Centro de las Artes Bicentenario) in the state of San Luis Potosí. She has been published in the Biennial Book: Theater in Mexico 1994–1995 (CITRU-INBA, 1996) and in Paso de Gato. Revista Mexicana de Teatro. She developed the edition Anthology of Original Music for Theater by Luis Rivero, CDs that were incorporated to the Digital Library 2 and published by CITRU (CONACULTA, INBA, CENART) in 2006. She also participates in academic events related to the topic of production, distribution, and consumption of performing arts. She is a member of the Cultural Group coordinated by the architect Manuel Figueroa. With this group, she took part in the Consultation on Culture Forum, arranged by the Culture Commission of the LX Legislature of the House of Representatives (2009) and by the Cultural Policies Academy coordinated by Doctor Ana Garduño at CENIDIAP (according to its Spanish initials).
